In Saturday's non-league game, the host Mandeville Skippers baseball team scored a tight 6-5 victory over the Catholic-B.R. Bears.
The Skippers (5-9) will now prepare for their game against Northshore (Slidell, LA). The Panthers go into the 5A District 6 game with a 9-10 record.
The Bears (21-2) will now prepare for their game against Liberty Magnet (Baton Rouge, LA). The Patriots go into the game with a 2-1 record. In their last game, Liberty Magnet was edged by Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (Kenner, LA), 17-3, in a non-league game.
