Canal Winchester Indians (Canal Winchester, OH) followers exited the stadium in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their lacrosse squad edge the visiting Franklin Wildcats (Franklin, OH), 9-8 in a non-league battle.
The Indians now have a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dublin Scioto for a Region 1 battle on Tuesday, March 28. Canal Winchester will clash with a Irish squad coming off a 15-6 non-league loss to Dublin Coffman (Dublin, OH). The Irish record now stands at 0-1.
In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the Monroe Hornets (Monroe, OH) in a non-league battle, on Monday, March 27. Franklin will attempt to move on its 2-1 season record. The Hornets come into the battle with a 0-2 record after their 10-9 non-league loss to Wilmington (Wilmington, OH).
Game Summary
In a back and forth affair, Junior Attackman Harlee Hannah scored with 1.2 seconds left in the first overtime to lead Canal Winchester to its second win of the season. Junior Goalie Aidan Malone made several saves at the end of regulation and in overtime to give Canal Winchester a chance to win the game. Junior Middie Skyler Deaton added 2 goals and 2 assists for the Indians. Canal Winchester moves to 2-0 on the season and will be in action again on Tuesday March 28th at Dublin Scioto.
