New Hope Indians (New Hope, AL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Huntland Hornets (Huntland, TN), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Indians now sport a 12-9 record. They take the field next when they travel to Madison County for a 4A Area 14 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. New Hope will face a Tigers squad coming off a 6-5 non-league loss to Buckhorn (New Market, AL). The Tigers record now stands at 17-4.

With the loss, Huntland falls to 6-3 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to South Pittsburg (South Pittsburg, TN) to face the Pirates in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Pirates enter the challenge with a record of 3-0. South Pittsburg won 20-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Lookout Valley (Chattanooga, TN)
