Los Alamos Hilltoppers (Los Alamos, NM) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM), 6-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Hilltoppers now own a 7-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Farmington for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 25. Los Alamos will battle a Scorpions squad coming off a 7-1 non-league loss to Alamogordo (Alamogordo, NM). The Scorpions record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Volcano Vista falls to 9-6 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Cibola (Albuquerque, NM) to battle the Cougars in a 5A District 1 challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 13-2. Cibola won 17-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Valley (Albuquerque, NM)
