In Monday's league battle, the host Swain County Maroon Devils soccer squad scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Murphy Bulldogs.

The Maroon Devils (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Hayesville (Hayesville, NC). The Yellowjackets come into the Smoky Mountain 1A battle with a 1-3 record. In their last battle, Hayesville nudged Blue Ridge Early College (Cashiers, NC), 2-0, in a league battle.
