The Covington Lions softball team scored 15 runs and limited the visiting Pearl River Rebels to 0 in the Lions non-league triumph on Monday.

With the triumph, Covington improves its record to 11-11 on the year. The Lions host Hammond (Hammond, LA) to clash with the Tornadoes in a 5A District 6 game on Tuesday, March 26. The Tornadoes come into the game with a record of 3-12. Hammond won 22-10 in their recent non-league game against Salmen (Slidell, LA)

In their next game, the Rebels clash with the Franklinton Demons (Franklinton, LA) in a 4A District 8 game, on Tuesday, March 26. Pearl River will attempt to improve on its 4-15 season record. The Demons come into the game with a 10-7 record after their 17-0 non-league loss to Destrehan (Destrehan, LA).
