Foard Tigers (Newton, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Statesville Greyhounds (Statesville, NC), 18-0 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host East Lincoln for a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Wednesday, March 27. Foard will battle a Mustangs squad coming off a 15-11 league loss to North Iredell (Olin, NC). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-4.

With the loss, Statesville falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Greyhounds host North Lincoln (Lincolnton, NC) to battle the Knights in a Western Foothills 3A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 5-3. North Lincoln won 20-7 in their recent league challenge against Hickory (Hickory, NC)
