Independence Patriots (Charlotte, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC), 15-0 in a league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they host Butler for a Southwestern 4A challenge on Tuesday, March 26. Independence will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 6-4.

With the loss, Garinger falls to 0-6 on the campaign. The Wildcats host West Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC) to battle the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 26. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-7. West Mecklenburg lost 37-20 in their recent league challenge against Chambers (Charlotte, NC)
