The Carthage Bulldogs triumphed over the visiting Henderson Lions softball squad by a count of 12-5 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Gilmer Buckeyes (Gilmer, TX) in a 4A Region II District 16 challenge, on Friday, March 28. Carthage will attempt to upgrade on its 15-4 season record. The Buckeyes enter the challenge with a 16-2 record after their 21-0 league win over Kilgore (Kilgore, TX).

The Lions (16-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Chapel Hill (Tyler, TX). The Bulldogs enter the 4A Region II District 16 challenge with a 1-12 record. In their last challenge, Chapel Hill was routed by Spring Hill (Longview, TX), 23-4, in a league challenge.
