The Independence Wildcats (Independence, MS) softball routed the host Hickory Flat Rebels (Hickory Flat, MS), 23-0 in Tuesday's non-league outing.
The Wildcats now sport a 5-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rosa Fort for a 3A Region 2 outing on Thursday, March 27. Independence will encounter a Lions team coming off a 15-14 league loss to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, MS). The Lions record now stands at 0-7.
With the loss, Hickory Flat moves to 0-14 on the season. The Rebels host Wheeler (Wheeler, MS) to encounter the Eagles in a non-league outing on Friday, March 28. The Eagles come into the outing with a record of 10-5. Wheeler won 11-1 in their recent league outing against Thrasher (Booneville, MS)
