West Virginia High School Softball - Musselman can't get by Washington

March 25, 2026: Charles Town, WV 25414

The Washington Patriots edged the visiting Musselman Applemen softball squad by a count of 6-5 in Wednesday's league challenge.

Next, the Patriots meet the Spring Mills Cardinals (Martinsburg, WV) in a Class AAAA North Region battle, on Friday, March 27. Washington will attempt to move on its 3-0 season record. The Cardinals come into the battle with a 4-1 record after their 15-3 non-league win over Mercersburg Academy (Mercersburg, PA).

With the loss, Musselman moves to 1-2 on the season. The Applemen travel to Hedgesville (Hedgesville, WV) to confront the Eagles in a Class AAAA North Region battle on Thursday, March 26. The Eagles come into the battle with a record of 3-1. Hedgesville won 21-0 in their recent non-league battle against Hampshire (Romney, WV)
