In Friday's league game, the host Pinnacle Pioneers baseball team scored a tight 8-4 victory over the Mountain Ridge Mountain Lions.
The Pioneers (5-0) will now prepare for their game against Chaparral (Scottsdale, AZ). The Firebirds go into the game with a 3-2 record. In their last game, Chaparral tipped Boulder Creek (Anthem, AZ), 12-2, in a league game.
The Mountain Lions (0-2) will now prepare for their game against Westwood (Mesa, AZ). The Warriors go into the non-league game with a 1-3 record.
