Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jefferson Forest Cavaliers (Forest, VA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Golden Eagles now own a 7-0 record. They take the field next when they host Patrick County for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 2.

With the loss, Jefferson Forest falls to 3-3 on the campaign. The Cavaliers travel to Brookville (Lynchburg, VA) to battle the Bees in a Seminole challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Bees enter the challenge with a record of 3-1. Brookville lost 8-2 in their recent league challenge against Amherst County (Amherst, VA)
