The New Hanover Wildcats softball team (Wilmington, NC), was routed 20-1 in Tuesday's league test with the host Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC)

Coming up next, the Screaming Eagle encounter the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a Mideastern 3A/4A test, on Wednesday, March 27. Ashley will attempt to improve on its 1-11 season record. The Pirates enter the test with a 8-2 record after their 8-3 league win over Hoggard (Wilmington, NC).

The Wildcats (0-8) will now prepare for their test against Laney (Wilmington, NC). The Buccaneers enter the Mideastern 3A/4A test with a 8-1 record. In their last test, Laney prevailed over West Brunswick (Shallotte, NC), 13-2, in a league test.
