Henderson Lions (Henderson, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX), 5-4 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 16-7 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gilmer for a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Thursday, March 28. Henderson will face a Buckeyes squad coming off a 17-7 league win over Kilgore (Kilgore, TX). The Buckeyes record now stands at 12-10.

With the loss, Carthage falls to 15-11 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Spring Hill (Longview, TX) to face the Panthers in a 4A Region III District 17 challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 3-23. Spring Hill won 10-9 in their recent league challenge against Center (Center, TX)
