Hays Hawks (Buda, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Lockhart Lions (Lockhart, TX), 6-4 in a league challenge.

The Hawks now sport a 14-13 record. They take the field next when they host Leander for a 5A Region IV District 25 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. Hays will face a Lions squad coming off a 4-2 league win over Rouse (Leander, TX). The Lions record now stands at 24-3.

With the loss, Lockhart falls to 9-17 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Glenn (Leander, TX) to face the Grizzlies in a 5A Region IV District 25 challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a record of 18-9. Glenn won 9-1 in their recent league test against Lehman (Kyle, TX)
