St. John XXIII Lions (Katy, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Second Baptist Eagles (Houston, TX), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host Fort Bend Christian Academy for a TAPPS Division II District 4 challenge on Tuesday, April 2.

With the loss, Second Baptist falls to 3-6 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to O'Connell (Galveston, TX) to face the Buccaneers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 2. The Buccaneers enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. O'Connell lost 12-4 in their recent league challenge against First Baptist Christian (Pasadena, TX)
