Tabb Tigers (Yorktown, VA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Smithfield Packers (Smithfield, VA), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Tigers now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Peninsula Catholic for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, March 27. Tabb will battle a Knights squad coming off a 20-10 league loss to Cape Henry Collegiate (Virginia Beach, VA). The Knights record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Smithfield falls to 3-2 on the campaign. The Packers travel to New Kent (New Kent, VA) to battle the Trojans in a Bay Rivers challenge on Friday, March 29. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 4-0. New Kent won 6-2 in their recent league challenge against Grafton (Yorktown, VA)
