The Vale Vikings (Vale, OR) softball nipped the visiting Union/Cove Bobcats (Union, OR), 5-4 in Tuesday's non-league bout.
The Vikings (3-2) will now prepare for their bout against Elgin/Imbler (Elgin, OR). The Huskies go into the non-league bout with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Elgin/Imbler held off Riverside (Boardman, OR), 13-6, in a non-league bout.
The Bobcats now possess a 0-2 record. They play next when they host Warrenton for a non-league bout on Friday, March 29. Union/Cove will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 14-0 non-league win over Sheridan (Sheridan, OR). The Warriors record now stands at 4-0.
