The Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) baseball trounced the visiting Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA), 12-2 in Monday's non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Lancers play the Liberty Minutemen (Bedford, VA) in a Seminole contest, on Wednesday, March 29. Amherst County will attempt to better on its 4-0 season record. The Minutemen enter the contest with a 0-6 record after their 16-1 non-league loss to Staunton River (Moneta, VA).

The Governors now sport a 2-4 record. They take the field next when they host Dan River for a Dogwood contest on Wednesday, March 29. Nelson County will play a Wildcats squad coming off a 8-5 non-league loss to Tunstall (Dry Fork, VA). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-3.
