In Monday's league battle, the host Owen Warhorses soccer squad scored a good 9-0 triumph over the Mitchell Mountaineers.
The Warhorses (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Cougars come into the Western Highlands 1A/2A battle with a 0-2 record. In their last battle, Mountain Heritage was overwhelmed by Madison (Marshall, NC), 2-0, in a league battle.
The Mountaineers (0-6) will now prepare for their battle against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats come into the Western Highlands 1A/2A battle with a 5-1 record. In their last battle, Draughn thwarted Avery County (Newland, NC), 2-0, in a league battle.
