Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC), 4-3 in a league challenge.

The Yellowjackets now own a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Swain County for a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Hayesville will battle a Maroon Devils squad coming off a 13-2 non-league win over Asheville Trailblazers (Asheville, NC). The Maroon Devils record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Andrews falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Hiwassee Dam (Murphy, NC) to battle the Eagles in a Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Eagles come into the game with a record of 3-3. Hiwassee Dam lost 12-8 in their recent non-league game against Copper Basin (Copperhill, TN)
