Newbury Park Panthers (Newbury Park, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Calabasas Coyotes (Calabasas, CA), 16-9 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 5-7 record. They take the field next when they host Agoura for a Marmonte challenge on Tuesday, March 28. Newbury Park will face a Chargers squad coming off a 9-6 league loss to Oaks Christian (Westlake Village, CA). The Chargers record now stands at 10-8.

With the loss, Calabasas falls to 2-14 on the campaign. The Coyotes host Westlake (Westlake Village, CA) to face the Warriors in a Marmonte challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Warriors enter the challenge with a record of 14-3. Westlake won 10-0 in their recent non-league battle against Venice (Los Angeles, CA)
