Westminster Lions (Westminster, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Garden Grove Argonauts (Garden Grove, CA), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Lions now own a 11-5 record. They take the field next when they host Godinez Fundamental for a Golden West challenge on Wednesday, March 29. Westminster will battle a Grizzlies squad coming off a 14-0 non-league loss to Beckman (Irvine, CA). The Grizzlies record now stands at 6-7.

With the loss, Garden Grove falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Argonauts host Valencia (Placentia, CA) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 28. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 4-8. Valencia lost 5-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Capistrano Valley Christian (San Juan Capistrano, CA)
