In Wednesday's league game, the visiting South Caldwell Spartans baseball team scored a tight 3-0 victory over the Alexander Central Cougars.
The Spartans (8-2) will now prepare for their game against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies go into the Northwestern 3A/4A game with a 7-4 record. In their last game, Ashe County by Hibriten (Lenoir, NC), 5-4, in a league game.
