Estill County Engineers (Irvine, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Owsley County Owls / Lady Owls (Booneville, KY), 16-5 in a league challenge.

The Engineers now own a 2-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Breathitt County for a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 28. Estill County will battle a Bobcats squad coming off a 14-2 league win over Jackson City (Jackson, KY). The Bobcats record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Owsley County falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Owls / lady owls travel to Lee County (Beattyville, KY) to battle the Bobcats in a District 56 challenge on Thursday, March 28. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a record of 1-3. Lee County won 10-0 in their recent non-league game against Morgan County (West Liberty, KY)
