In Thursday's non-league game, the visiting Covington Lions baseball team scored a close 14-7 victory over the Central Private Redhawks.
The Lions (15-7) will now prepare for their game against Hammond (Hammond, LA). The Tornadoes enter the 5A District 6 game with a 4-18 record. In their last game, Hammond was overwhelmed by Mandeville (Mandeville, LA), 8-0, in a league game.
Next, the Redhawks face the St. Michael Warriors (Baton Rouge, LA) in a non-league game, on Friday, March 28. Central Private will attempt to improve on its 13-13 season record. The Warriors enter the game with a 7-12 record after their 9-8 non-league loss to French Settlement (French Settlement, LA).
