The East Newton Patriots baseball team scored 4 runs and held the visiting Strafford Indians to 3 in the Patriots non-league win on Thursday.
The Patriots now hold a 2-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Cassville for a Class 4 District 11 test on Thursday, March 27. East Newton will play a Wildcats team coming off a 15-3 non-league loss to Strafford (Strafford, MO). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.
With the defeat, Strafford drops to 4-2 on the year. The Indians travel to Seneca (Seneca, MO) to play the Indians in a non-league test on Saturday, March 29. The Indians go into the test with a record of 0-0.
