The Valley Center Hornets softball team scored 2 runs and held the visiting Goddard Lions to 1 in the Hornets league win on Thursday.

The Hornets now sport a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Maize for a Ark Valley-Chisholm Trail Division I battle on Monday, March 31. Valley Center will confront a Eagles team coming off a 6-2 non-league loss to Bishop Carroll (Wichita, KS). The Eagles record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Goddard moves to 0-2 on the season. The Lions host Maize South (Wichita, KS) to confront the Mavericks in a non-league battle on Tuesday, April 8. The Mavericks come into the battle with a record of 1-0. Maize South won 10-0 in their recent non-league battle against Bishop Carroll (Wichita, KS)
