The Holmes Bulldogs softball team scored 28 runs and held the host Newport Wildcats to 10 in the Bulldogs non-league win on Thursday.

The Bulldogs now possess a 1-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Henry for a non-league battle on Friday, March 28. Holmes will confront a Crusaders team coming off a 21-0 league loss to Villa Madonna (Covington, KY). The Crusaders record now stands at 2-2.

With the loss, Newport moves to 0-4 on the season. The Wildcats host Villa Madonna (Covington, KY) to confront the Vikings in a non-league battle on Friday, March 28. The Vikings come into the battle with a record of 3-2. Villa Madonna won 3-2 in their recent non-league battle against Bellevue (Bellevue, KY)
