The Live Oak Eagles overwhelmed the host Walker Wildcats softball squad by a count of 16-6 in Thursday's league challenge.
Next, the Eagles meet the East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA) in a 5A District 5 challenge, on Friday, March 28. Live Oak will attempt to upgrade on its 12-11 season record. The Spartans go into the challenge with a 13-8 record after their 14-8 league loss to Walker (Walker, LA).
The Wildcats (16-5) will now prepare for their challenge against St. Amant (St. Amant, LA). The Gators go into the 5A District 5 challenge with a 17-6 record. In their last challenge, St. Amant was routed by Sam Houston (Lake Charles, LA), 12-1, in a non-league challenge.
