South Carolina High School Baseball - Hampton County loses to Barnwell

March 27, 2026: Varnville, SC 29944

In Friday's league bout, the Barnwell Warhorses (Barnwell, SC) baseball squad overwhelmed the host Hampton County Hurricanes (Varnville, SC), by a tally of 21-0.

Next up, the Warhorses encounter the Edisto Cougars (Cordova, SC) in a 2A Region 5 bout, on Monday, March 30. Barnwell will attempt to upgrade on its 7-7 season record. The Cougars enter the bout with a 3-6 record after their 10-0 league loss to Bridges Prep (Beaufort, SC).

The Hurricanes now possess a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Whale Branch for a 2A Region 5 contest on Tuesday, March 31. Hampton County will confront a Warriors squad coming off a 13-7 league loss to Lake Marion (Santee, SC). The Warriors record now stands at 0-7.
