In Friday's league game, the host Central Wildcats baseball team scored a close 2-0 win over the Catholic Bears.
The Wildcats (18-7) will now prepare for their match against Liberty Magnet (Baton Rouge, LA). The Patriots come into the 5A District 4 match with a 6-13 record. In their last match, Liberty Magnet by St. John (Plaquemine, LA), 14-4, in a non-league match.
The Bears now possess a 23-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Martin's Episcopal for a non-league match on Tuesday, March 31. Catholic will battle a Saints team coming off a 7-3 league loss to Riverside Academy (Reserve, LA). The Saints record now stands at 15-3.
