North Carolina High School Softball - Watauga gets by St. Stephens

March 27, 2026: Hickory, NC 28601

The crowd at Friday's league bout between the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) and the host St. Stephens Indians (Hickory, NC), observed Watauga's softball team get by St. Stephens by a tally of 3-2.

The Pioneers (7-6) will now prepare for their bout against Mitchell (Bakersville, NC). The Mountaineers go into the non-league bout with a 8-2 record. In their last bout, Mitchell was edged by Owen (Black Mountain, NC), 14-0, in a league contest.

The Indians now hold a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Maiden for a non-league contest on Wednesday, April 1. St. Stephens will face a Blue Devils squad coming off a 12-2 league win over Newton-Conover (Newton, NC). The Blue Devils record now stands at 4-6.
