Ranburne Bulldogs (Ranburne, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Gaylesville Trojans (Gaylesville, AL), 8-7 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 3-8 record. They take the field next when they host Horseshoe Bend for a 2A Area 8 challenge on Thursday, March 31. Ranburne will battle a Generals squad coming off a 9-4 non-league win over Reeltown (Notasulga, AL). The Generals record now stands at 3-9.

With the loss, Gaylesville falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Valley Head (Valley Head, AL) to battle the Tigers in a 1A Area 13 challenge on Tuesday, April 5. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 2-5. Valley Head lost 21-0 in their recent league challenge against Cedar Bluff (Cedar Bluff, AL)
