Halifax Wildcats (Halifax, PA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Newport Buffaloes (Newport, PA), 9-2 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Greenwood for a Tri-Valley challenge on Wednesday, March 30. Halifax will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 18-8 league loss to Line Mountain (Herndon, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Newport falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Susquenita (Duncannon, PA) to face the Blackhawks in a Tri-Valley challenge on Wednesday, March 30. The Blackhawks enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
