Hancock County Hornets (Lewisport, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Ohio County Eagles (Hartford, KY), 5-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 5-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Trinity for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 29. Hancock County will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 9-3 league win over Edmonson County (Brownsville, KY). The Raiders record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, Ohio County falls to 1-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Meade County (Brandenburg, KY) to battle the Green Waves in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 29. The Green Waves enter the challenge with a record of 1-2. Meade County won 10-8 in their recent non-league challenge against Corydon Central (Corydon, IN)
