The Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) softball routed the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), 16-5 in Monday's league bout.
The Golden Lions (1-8) will now prepare for their bout against Chase (Forest City, NC). The Trojans go into the non-league bout with a 6-2 record. In their last bout, Chase notched a victory over Polk County (Columbus, NC), 12-2, in a league bout.
The Gryphons now possess a 0-7 record. They play next when they travel to Owen for a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 30. Thomas Jefferson will confront a Warhorses squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to Rosman (Rosman, NC). The Warhorses record now stands at 4-3.
