LaPoynor Flyers (LaRue, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad hold off the host Cayuga Wildcats (Cayuga, TX), 2-1 in a league test.

With the win, LaPoynor upgrades its record to 6-7 on the season. The Flyers travel to Martins Mill (Ben Wheeler, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a 2A Region III District 20 test on Friday, March 31. The Mustangs come into the test with a record of 5-8. Martins Mill won 11-7 in their recent league game against Cross Roads (Malakoff, TX)

The Wildcats (9-5) will now prepare for their game against Neches (Neches, TX). The Tigers go into the 1A Region III District 20 game with a 5-4 record. In their last game, Neches was edged by Kerens (Kerens, TX), 15-0, in a league game.
