Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 23-0 in a league challenge.

The Buckin' Elks now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they host Mount Airy for a Northwest 1A challenge on Friday, March 31. Elkin will battle a Granite Bears squad coming off a 13-0 non-league loss to East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC). The Granite Bears record now stands at 3-7.

In their next game, the Trojans clash with the Watauga Pioneers (Boone, NC) in a non-league game, on Wednesday, March 29. Alleghany will attempt to move on its 0-10 season record. The Pioneers come into the game with a 4-6 record after their 13-9 league win over Hibriten (Lenoir, NC).
