Ledford Panthers (Thomasville, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Asheboro Blue Comets (Asheboro, NC), 16-0 in a league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 6-3 record. They take the field next when they host North Davidson for a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge on Friday, March 31. Ledford will battle a Black Knights squad coming off a 9-8 league win over Central Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights record now stands at 6-2.

With the loss, Asheboro falls to 0-9 on the campaign. The Blue comets host Southwestern Randolph (Asheboro, NC) to battle the Cougars in a non-league challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Cougars enter the challenge with a record of 9-0. Southwestern Randolph won 4-3 in their recent league challenge against Uwharrie Charter (Asheboro, NC)
