North Davidson Black Knights (Lexington, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Central Davidson Spartans (Lexington, NC), 9-8 in a league challenge.

The Black Knights now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Ledford for a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge on Friday, March 31. North Davidson will battle a Panthers squad coming off a 16-0 league win over Asheboro (Asheboro, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 6-3.

With the loss, Central Davidson falls to 4-6 on the campaign. The Spartans host Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC) to battle the Grizzlies in a Mid-Piedmont 3A challenge on Friday, March 31. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a record of 9-3. Oak Grove won 8-0 in their recent league challenge against Montgomery Central (Troy, NC)
