Walker Wildcats (Walker, LA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA), 5-2 in a league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 4-3 record. They take the field next when they host Northshore for a non-league challenge on Saturday, April 1.

With the loss, East Ascension falls to 10-13 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Denham Springs (Denham Springs, LA) to face the Yellowjackets in a 5A District 4 challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Yellowjackets enter the challenge with a record of 8-10. Denham Springs lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against St. Amant (St. Amant, LA)
