Scott County Cardinals (Georgetown, KY) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Frederick Douglass Broncos (Lexington, KY), 12-1 in a league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hatton for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 31. Scott County will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Valley Head (Valley Head, AL). The Hornets record now stands at 11-12.

With the loss, Frederick Douglass falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Broncos travel to Bryan Station (Lexington, KY) to battle the Defenders in a District 42 challenge on Thursday, March 30. The Defenders enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Bryan Station lost 4-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Lafayette (Lexington, KY)
