North Carolina High School Softball - Lumberton bounces Purnell Swett

The Lumberton Pirates routed the visiting Purnell Swett Rams softball squad by a final score of 9-0 in Tuesday's league battle.

The Pirates (10-2) will now prepare for their battle against Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC). The Colts go into the United Eight 3A/4A battle with a 7-1 record. In their last battle, Cape Fear topped Gray's Creek (Hope Mills, NC), 11-6, in a league battle.

The Rams now possess a 4-8 record. They play next when they host Hoke County for a non-league battle on Thursday, March 30. Purnell Swett will meet a Bucks squad coming off a 13-9 league loss to Pinecrest (Southern Pines, NC). The Bucks record now stands at 4-7.
