Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX), 15-5 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 9-15 record. They take the field next when they host Rio Grande City for a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Friday, March 31. Nixon will face a Rattlers squad coming off a 5-0 league win over Palmview (La Joya, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 20-3.

With the loss, Martin falls to 4-13 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Palmview (La Joya, TX) to face the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Friday, March 31. The Lobos enter the challenge with a record of 13-13. Palmview lost 5-0 in their recent league challenge against Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX)
