The crowd at Tuesday's league match between the Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) and the visiting Santa Margarita Eagles (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA), saw Mater Dei's softball squad nip Santa Margarita by a count of 2-1.

The Monarchs now sport a 9-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Rosary Academy for a Trinity match on Wednesday, March 29. Mater Dei will face a Royals squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over Fountain Valley (Fountain Valley, CA). The Royals record now stands at 7-7.

With the loss, Santa Margarita falls to 10-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Woodbridge (Irvine, CA) to face the Warriors in a non-league match on Wednesday, March 29. The Warriors enter the match with a record of 5-4. Woodbridge won 15-1 in their recent league match against University (Irvine, CA)
