North Carolina High School Softball - Union Pines bounces Pinecrest

March 28, 2023: Southern Pines, NC 28387

Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad run past the host Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC), 24-2 in a league challenge.

The Vikings now own a 6-5 record. They take the field next when they travel to Lee County for a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Friday, March 31. Union Pines will battle a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 11-2 league win over Southern Lee (Sanford, NC). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 3-6.

With the loss, Pinecrest falls to 3-7 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Montgomery Central (Troy, NC) to battle the Timberwolves in a non-league game on Thursday, March 30. The Timberwolves come into the game with a record of 6-7. Montgomery Central lost 8-0 in their recent league game against Oak Grove (Winston-Salem, NC)
