The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans baseball team scored 12 runs and limited the visiting Briarwood Academy Buccaneers to 2 in the Spartans league victory on Thursday.

The Spartans (8-4) will now prepare for their match against David Emanuel Academy (Stillmore, GA). The Eagles go into the non-league match with a 8-2 record. In their last match, David Emanuel Academy gained a win over John Hancock Academy (Sparta, GA), 9-1, in a league match.

The Buccaneers (5-7) will now prepare for their match against Augusta Prep Day (Augusta, GA). The Cavaliers go into the GIAA AA District 4 match with a 4-8 record. In their last match, Augusta Prep Day was overwhelmed by Westminster Schools of Augusta (Augusta, GA), 11-3, in a non-league match.
