In Thursday's league game, the host Wilmington Wildcats baseball team scored a tight 6-1 victory over the Reed-Custer Comets.
The Wildcats (4-1) will now prepare for their game against Manteno (Manteno, IL). The Panthers go into the Illinois Central Eight game with a 7-0 record. In their last game, Manteno tipped Peotone (Peotone, IL), 11-1, in a league game.
The Comets (4-2) will now prepare for their game against Dwight (Dwight, IL). The Trojans go into the non-league game with a 4-5 record.
